Hadi Fathallah

Hadi Fathallah is the Chief Economist at the startup Recyclo, the Scrap Circular Economy, working on restructuring the recycling industry: making it digital, financially sustainable, and less volatile for recyclers, industry and local governments.

Hadi is an adviser at NAMEA Group, a political risk consultancy, and a contributing expert on food security, energy, trade and political risk in the MENA region at the Carnegie Endowment for International Peace. He is a visiting lecturer at the Center of Petroleum Economics at IFP School, Paris and lecturer in economics of natural resources at Beirut Arab University (BAU). Previously, Hadi was an economist at FAO’s Regional Office for Near East and North Africa and has consulted for various international organizations, including the World Bank, World Food Program, the UN Department of Economic and Social Affairs, and the Cornell International Institute for Food, Agriculture and Development (CIIFAD), in addition to private corporate consulting in energy, engineering, and business management.

Hadi is a fellow of the Cornell Institute for Public Affairs at Cornell University, a Changemaker at Ashoka, and a Global Shaper from the Beirut Hub, an initiative of the World Economic Forum. He holds an Executive Masters in International Oil and Gas Leadership from the Graduate Institute, Geneva, and IFP School, Paris; a Masters of Public Administration (MPA) in International Development from Cornell University; and a Bachelors of Electrical and Computer Engineering from the American University of Beirut (AUB).
